VR exhibition Predictive Cities

Predictive Cities is an exhibition sponsored by the Urban Intersections Working Group of Birkbeck’s Institute for Social Research, situated in the virtual space of a Mozilla Hubs VR chatroom.

Predictive Cities contains two kinds of objects: memes that spawn a selection of Luksch’s artworks interrogating network urbanism and citizen agency, and spherical photographs of Songdo, South Korea, internationally famous as case study of greenfield smart cities. The series Songdo is custom-made for VR and shown the first time at this occasion.

Visit it here< https://hub.link/RHVKUVs > using Firefox, Chrome, Edge (but not Safari) or a VR headset. It is not optimised for mobile devices.
The project is free and open to all.

This episode within the Events podcast series for Mediapolis Now, the podcast channel of Mediapolis: A Journal of Cities and Culture, is based on the recording of a roundtable event with Birkbeck-based researchers Melissa Butcher, Sarah Keenan, and Joel McKim hosted by Scott Rodgers.
